Manitoba Harvest Hemp Protein Review

Happy Monday loves!

This post is going to be dedicated to a new protein that I had the chance to test out thanks to my ambassdorship with Sweat Pink.

I received two half of sample sized hemp proteins to test out and review from a Canadian based company called Manitoba Harvest. Manitoba Harvest solely makes and sells hemp based products, including the hemp protein I was testing and even something called hemp hearts.

What exactly is hemp?

Hemp is a super plant.

Hemp has been around for centuries and has helped shape the continent I call home. It can be used and/or found in numerous items including clothes and protein powders.

I received 2 half a sample sized products to try…chocolate and vanilla.

Hemp Pro 70 comes in three flavors; Original, Chocolate and Vanilla.

They suggest HempPro 70 if:

You’re an athlete looking for a pre or post workout protein shake.

You’re experiencing bloating and/or an unsettled stomach from other protein powders.

You’re used to a whey protein and curious to try a plant-based protein powder, such as hemp.

You want nutrition on the go! HempPro 70 is the only water soluble hemp protein powder on the market. This means you can literally throw it in a shaker cup with some water and take it with you on the road.

You’re looking to add extra protein to your diet. HempPro 70 has 20 grams of protein per 30 gram serving – our highest protein powder option.

So after researching a few other bloggers ideas about Hemp Pro 70, I decided to add the vanilla to my homemade yogurt parfait and make a smoothie with the chocolate option.

I added the vanilla hemp powder to numerous yogurt parfaits I had made and noticed that the vanilla flavor wasn’t very flavorful. It was very bland when it was just my yogurt, protein powder and granola. 😦

The smoothie recipe was actually borrowed from a lovely blog called Divas Run For Bling

She calls this smoothie

Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

1 banana

1 cup Dark Chocolate Almond Milk

Chocolate protein powder

1/2 cup plain greek yogurt

1/2 cup peanut butter (or any nut butter)

Place all ingredients into blender.

Blend and enjoy!

(be sure to check out her blog…it is amazing!)

Overall, I really enjoyed the chocolate flavored protein. It was very smooth and creamy when blended into my smoothie. If I were to purchase Hemp Pro 70, which I’m totally leaning towards doing, I would most definitely buy the chocolate kind. Have you ever tried any plant-based protein powders? What was your experience?

Interested in trying this product? Well you are in luck,  Manitoba Harvest, in partnership with Fit Approach, is offering everyone 20% off using the code sweatpinkpro70 at checkout. Time to stock up!

Disclosure: I received no compensation for this publication. I did receive products from review from the above company because I am a Sweat Pink Ambassador and agreed to share my opinions.

Peace and Love ❤
