#foundationfriday:Black Radiance

Happy Friday loves!

Today I’m bringing you a lovely sort of kind of foundation review. The reason why I say it’s kind of a foundation review is because I’m reviewing the Black Radiance True Complexion BB Cream.

What is a BB Cream you ask?

BB cream is promoted as an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunblock. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over serum and moisturizer as a regular foundation, and under powder, depending on the desired amount of coverage.

Thank you Wikipedia.

So BB Cream’s provides coverage as well as moisturizes and protects from the sun.

So I wanted to try a BB Cream to use as a daily foundation for the summer months. Of course I checked YouTube and came across a couple of views for Black Radiance BB Creams.

I’m a baseball mom and the hot summer sun was not good to me. I literally was at a baseball game every weekend and naturally became 2-3 shades darker.

I picked up Honey Amber and Coffee Glaze initially because they each blended nicely when I swatched them however individually one was either too light or just a tad bit too warm. So I mixed them to get my desired look.

As you can see the Honey Amber is more reddish based and the Coffee Glaze is more yellow based. However when mixed they create great coverage. I know these aren’t the greatest quality photos but I wore these while I was in Houston.

Now once baseball ended I ended up locating another shade which is Cafe. Now on the website, the Cafe shade looks entirely too light for my complexion however it seems to blend well.

I believe the Cafe shade is one shade lighter than the honey amber shade. They actually do look really similar to me swatched on my hand however on the website they are completely different. I’ve been using this shade lately and again have a few terrible quality pictures but lets just deal with it for now. Also, these are w/o flash.

Overall, I really like these BB Creams for a daily use. They are light enough to wear on their own. I haven’t really tried to wear these under another foundation because I just don’t have time for all of that lol.

I will note that now that it is getting colder I MUST WEAR A PRIMER with this. My skin gets dry in the winter months and it is quite annoying with this product. I’ve noticed that the primer that I usually use for the summer doesn’t work well with this product. So lately I’ve been using Benefit’s POREfessional Face Primer and I haven’t had any problems. Also, this is more of a dewy finish and I did find myself blotting my t-zone a bit often. I’m not usually a fan of dewy finishes but I enjoy this one.

These babies can be found at Rite Aid (I picked mine up from the one on the South Side here in Pittsburgh) and Wal-Mart. Or you can always pick them up from here. Also, they are SUPER AFFORDABLE and I usually find them with a coupon on them and end up saving even more.

Let me know what BB Creams you all use, I’m interested in trying new BB Creams.

Also, have you tried the Black Radiance line? I’ve heard good things about the foundation but haven’t been able to pick up any yet.

Peace and Love
