Global Warming has been causing my face to be all out of sorts.
Yes, I’m blaming global warming for my skin’s current confusion.
I’m normally a combination/dry girl in the winter months and then I switch back to combo/oily in the summer months.
The poor sick Earth has caused Pittsburgh to feel like it’s late fall or early spring at times.
To counteract this lovely weather we are getting, I’ve been in skincare overdrive. Picking up random masks to try along with switching up my skincare routine.
Today’s mask hails from Boscia.
It is the Charcoal Pore-Minimizing Hydrogel Mask.
I recently picked up this mask from Sephora for $8.
The main thing that caught my eye was the charcoal ingredient. I have used products with charcoal in the past and my skin loved it. Although I don’t have relatively large pores, I figured I would give it a try.
Now my pores are usually noticeable on my nose and then the cheek areas next to the base of my nose.

One of the main things that I love about this mask is that it comes protected with an outer sheet along with a clear plastic protective sheet.
Here’s a before look:
While trying this mask on Dhani came in to tell me that I looked like Batman…yes Batman not Catwoman. *major side eye*
Although, Batman is my favorite superhero so I could deal with the Batman resemblance.
The main thing I like about this mask is that it comes in 2 pieces. Most mask’s that I have tried don’t fit my face so it’s either getting close to your undereye or not covering your whole face.
I also like gel consistency of this mask. The other masks that I have tried have a more liquidy consistency and often take a while to absorb in the skin.
The directions suggest that you keep this mask on for 20 minutes and then after remove the mask and press the serum into your skin. My only qualm is that after allowing the serum to absorb in to my skin my skin feels somewhat dry in certain areas. The direction do state that you don’t have to apply a moisturizer and that the serum should be enough.
Overall, I’m interested in trying more masks from the Boscia line and plan on purchasing some more of the charcoal masks to test out for a week long period to see if my skin changes.
What are some of your favorite masks?
Peace and Love ❤
