105 days to go
6 more days and I will be out of the 100’s….finally!!
This week’s topic will be about the celebration of new babies.
But I wanted to talk about baby showers, gender reveal parties and maternity shoots.
9 years ago baby showers were the normal way of celebrating the birth of a child.
However, we have seen an influx in gender reveal parties and themed baby showers.
***WARNING: These are my opinions. I’m not trying to bash anyone’s way of celebrating their new bundle of joy. ***
With that being said, I just don’t see the hype in these over the top themed baby showers.
I did want to do a gender reveal party but it’s been 9 years since I’ve last had a child and I don’t think I could wait any longer when deciding out what we were having.
I pushed that gender reveal back to just a maternity shoot that will reveal the gender.
Saves coins and it keeps it intimate for my growing family.
It’s not that I don’t want to share this exciting news with close friends and family but I rather save that love fest for my baby shower.
I’ve tossed around a few ideas before deciding on the theme of my baby shower but not without some much needed inspiration from Pinterest of course.
While perusing Pinterest and le Google, I’ve come across some interesting baby shower themes.
Some of the themes I’ve seen along with the photos were just a bit too much. I mean I’m all for celebrating but LORD some of the outfits and themes are just out of this world. From the extravagant room decor to the dresses. I just think it’s a little too much.
Which leads me to realize that I really am old.
I mean, I kind of knew I was old but after being so selective about a baby shower I realized that it was true.
Either way I’ve decided on a theme and have started picking up little items for the shower and I’m super excited!
Baby boo is about 1.5 pounds now and I can start to notice my belly is beginning to round out a lot more now.
Baby boo responds to everything! Especially daddy and Dhani.
I’ve gained another pound…. yeah who cares about that.
Heartburn is back…with a vengeance.
Sidenote: When I was pregnant with Dhani, I had heartburn throughout my whole 3rd trimester and my little nugget came out with a head full of hair.
So this baby will probably have a head full of hair.
Glucose tests suck.
& I’m not sure if I announced it or not but we have finally agreed on a name.
I’ve also started my registry but quickly took a break from it.
That’s a story for another day.
But overall baby boo and I are happy and healthy.
Until next week.
Peace and Love ❤
