One of my goals for the 2016 Holiday season is to shop with more small businesses. I usually give a majority of my coins for makeup to non black businesses that I wanted to challenge myself to switch it up.
While I want to primarily shop Black Owned Businesses this holiday season, I do also want to support businesses that support women.
Real Her is the perfect company to highlight.
Real Her’s mission is to inspire and bring out the best in the modern woman: to know her worth, to feel proud of her individuality, to love each and every one of her flaws, and to not fear who she really is.
The thing I love the most about Real Her is their charitable work. As part of RealHer’s initiave for positivism and empowerment, we donate 20% of all gross profits to the American Association of University Women (AAUW), a non-profit organization that advances equity for women and girls through leadership programs, advocacy, education, and research. AAUW has been around for over 100 years, and is a leading, highly respected charity organization.
Real Her currently only sells lipstick but will soon branch out to liquid lipsticks!!
Their moisturizing lipsticks come in a creamy satin finish and they have 12 different shades. Each lipstick is free of parabens, sulfates, phlalates and synthetic fragrances.
Enriched with aloe vera, shea butter and Vitamin E.
Formulated in California. Leaping Bunny certified.
They normally go for $18 but currently they are on sale for $12.50 a piece.
Real Her was kind of enough to send over 4 of there moisturizing lipsticks for me to review.
Here are the lipsticks I received:
I am Powerful – Wine
I am Fierce – Fire Red
I Love Myself – Nude
I’ve Got This – Spring Floral Pink
How cute are these names? Seriously.
Added Bonus: They all have a shelf life of 3 years. SCORE. I think that’s a major plus because I normally take forever to get through lipsticks.
Also the packaging is amazing! They really did an excellent job with it.
I only swatched 2 shades because I’m regifting the I’ve Got This and I am Fierce shade mainly because these are colors I normally don’t wear.
I Love Myself is a pinky nude that I definitely have to wear a liner with. Of course, I really like I am Powerful because its a vampy shade.
I did test out I Love Myself during my recent mall shift and there are a few things I noticed but I want to test these out for another week and then I will be back with a review.
Interested in checking out Real Her?
Peace and Love ❤
*I received the lipsticks for free from Real Her in exchange for writing a review on the blog. All opinions are my own.*
