Da Bump & Grind: Week 31

This week’s bump and grind is devoted to my birth plan.

I didn’t have a chance to do one of these last time because of two things:

a) I was in school and had just come off of winter break and was trying to stay ahead of my school work.

b) Dhani was 3 weeks early so I me being at the hospital was completely unplanned.

I also didn’t get a chance to pack a hospital bag because this boy decided to come WHENEVER he wanted.

So what’s a birth plan?

A birth plan is a document that lets your medical team know your preferences for things like how to manage labor pain. Keep in mind that you can’t control every aspect of labor and delivery, and you’ll need to stay flexible in case something comes up that requires your birth team to depart from your plan. But a printed document gives you a place to make your wishes clear.

But… here is my birth plan.

Being that this is my second delivery I think I want things to pretty much go the same as they did last time. With the exception of a few things.

First…the epidural.

Last time, I was dilating rather fast and almost missed out on my epidural because of the amount of other women who were having children. Earlier in my pregnancy my back was KILLING me in my epidural site. So I’ve made the SMART decision to try and do a natural birth without any medication.

My mother told me I’m crazy and she knows I will quickly abandon this decision buuttttt I’m gone try.

I’m determined to excel at breastfeeding. Last time little Dhani would not latch on and I just abandoned the idea. I knew it would be difficult to pump and continue with school work so I decided to just forgo pumping and stick with formula.

Friday marks another milestone for me. I will be 8 months.

I’m super excited but also nervous.

I feel like I don’t have anything accomplished but that’s just me being an overachiever.

We are also gearing up to take more maternity pictures and I’m currently planning my baby shower.

These next 8 weeks are going to fly and I just hope I will get it all done in time.

The only thing that I DO NOT LIKE about this pregnancy….is me always being out of breath.

Dhani sat super low so I didn’t have any of these issues.

I feel like whenever I sit down baby boo is just sitting on my lungs and restricting my airway. Also, I can barely take off or put on shoes anymore because I just immediately get out of breath.

With all that being said, I’m still excited to meet this baby and CAN NOT WAIT.

Peace and Love ❀
